The art is very nice. @_@ I'm especially liking the boat. Since scenery and stuff like that is a huge weakness for me, I'm always really inspired by people who can draw it so well.

Wen Chunyun! (Long Mu) the given name of the historical person isn't recorded, so i gave her one, if/until i find the real name. "Spring Cloud" XD yeah i hope it's not too cheesy, but i do know of someone with that name IRL


Lin Moniang (Ma-tsu) i dunno if she'll even be in the story, maybe a cameo. *edit: actually, maybe i'll just recycle her character design for someone else. XD if i need to, i guess.

ack! so sorry! i don't mean to bump/double post, but i added a poll. i know it's still quite early to be asking this, but i'd like to see what you guys think. i'm open to suggestions, but what out of the three shot sizes (yeah, i keep thinking in terms of movie shots...ignore that) would you like to see the most? i myself am leaning towards full-bodied sprites. i mean, i can always crop them, and if i'm gonna draw more than just the head, i might as well do the whole thing.

Medium Imo, as long as you can recognize the characters, you don't need to go on to much quality.

You could always make big images for the sprites, so you can shrink them down for the medium size and cut them at shoulder/chest level to make the headshots for close-up moments =P

Wen Tianrui, baby! this is a taste of what the sprites'll look like (lol no this isn't the only one i've finished, but it's the most polished one at this point...) yup. i figure i'm better at pencils than i'll ever be at digi-art. hoooo, the noblewomen are gonna be tough though =.=

i'm thinking of doing at least one full bodied-sprite for each character (B&W), and a collection of different headshot sprites (in colour) with different expressions for the dialogue. a bit similar to what they did in Red Shift, methinks. the layout'll be a bit different, of course. but then again, i'm willing to make compromises if i need to, so if i decide to switch to a medium shot sprite, i'll just crop them.

have made close to no progress all of this month in the actual writing of the script. i do, however, have COMPLETELY (pretty much) planned more detailed aspects of the storyline as of today! :O before i was just going in this general direction when i was writing the first few parts. so hooray.

@Samu-kun: haha thank you XD i thought this design was rather toned down compared to some of the others i had (he's a middle-aged father of three! ) but in that case, i promise the next update will include some estrogen
