Then, hm... do you think the frameworks posted on the website should be stripped of their content? Or should it stay to serve as an example too?

I think they should have some sort of content, so people can easily evaluate them. (I wouldn't use the copyrighted phoenix wright content, though.)

Mostly from the game, except maybe for some sounds that were on a fansite.

Re: Phoenix goes Ren'Py
It's not as much "stopped" as "finished" actually . I never intended to make the whole game into Ren'Py as it would be against the primary goal of just reproducing the game style, not allowing people to play Phoenix Wright for free ^^;
Re: Phoenix goes Ren'Py
Oh wow! So I'm not the only one making/who has made a Phoenix Wright game on Ren'py.~ :3 Mines in the Dating Game genre though. I've just given it a go, its bassically EXACTLY like the game, which is good. Ren'py really is great... And kudos to you!
Re: Phoenix goes Ren'Py
Dating sim? Could be interesting ^^. Planning to release it to the public someday?
Re: Phoenix goes Ren'Py
It's the third one. Unless this is a different Phoenix Wright Ren'Py project than the one I played....btw, this is third(jap) or first game?

I'd try to use the system to make a Phoenix Wright thing, but the character animations look like a real pain to set up. It could be animationless though....
Re: Phoenix goes Ren'Py
It could definitely be animationless... I mean, their animations are really top-notch, so it would be hard for an amateur to provide that many animations... unless you completely reused existing stuff which would be both a problem for copyright and for the story (how would you create a new case where everyone's already known? o_o...).
Actually, it could even look different in presentation. If you really want the PW feeling though, you'll need some "in your face" stuff like the shouting or some 2 frames desk slamming animation.
There's a freeware game that works very much like Phoenix when it comes to investigation and clue presenting : Fedora Spade (http://studioeres.com/games/fedora). I found it a lot less fun but not because of its look, only because it doesn't have the same mood. I suggest looking at it if you're planning to make a PW-like game, just to see how different it could look while using the same mechanics.

Re: Phoenix goes Ren'Py
Sweet! I have been wondering if Ren'Py could actually do a Phoenix Wright game (my theory was "yes") but it's good to know it's definite. If I ever get around to making a game like Phoenix Wright, this will definitely come in handy. Thanks a bunch monele!
(And I won't be playing the demo as I'm still on the second game, fourth episode. I got into PW pretty late... meaning within in the past couple of months. n_n)

Re: Phoenix goes Ren'Py
Oh yeah, don't spoil yourself ^^... Especially since I consider the whole 3rd game to be the best one ^^. I'm now starting back from the 1st game since I've forgotten many details about how to solve them, yay! XD
I'm glad you like the work done on this adaptation. I wouldn't mind seeing a PW-like coming out someday... maybe from you
