What is the better Editor?

#1 Post by EmpressOfEmpresses »

I have problems with two Editors: Atom and Editra.
Which one is better? Why? Is there any another best Editors?

Atom is a serious program, with many chips. Mostly seasoned is used. Pythonists.

Jedit is just ordinary users who don't use a lot of python. Scripters are simple

Editra is no longer supported or in development...and I had to leave it because it was glitching on the Mac. So...Atom is what I went with because it works.

There is no "better" editor, as I see it.
Instead, there is one editor you are familiar or comfortable with, and one you are not.

For what it's worth, Editra works flawlessly for me with all the tools I need and I like it's design. But that's me, others disagree.
It's "beta" status means little.

You're also free to use any other editor you want, you aren't limited to those two options.

Editra work with lines and columns of code and use a colors for functions. Also, Editra and Atom are Ren'Py-defined, right? My default editor Gedit not. So, I'm looking for Editra-like editor that at less working with a lines and columns. And I don't know if I need to try to install a software for Atom or Editra: both ways are hard for me.

I've been using Atom and it works pretty good, but recently I tried Visual Studio Code and I love it! Integrated git support, code overview, column mode, and someone wrote a Ren'Py syntax highlighter (thanks whoever that was!).

Available for all platforms, https://code.visualstudio.com
