For those who make openings and trailers for their VNs, which software do you prefer and why?
I've recently started trying AAE - which was pretty nifty, except for the whole no-in-built-transitions thing. But I have no idea how to start keyframing in Vegas, which is really important (keyframing in AAE was pretty easy - you just click on the stopwatch and pull things around and you're done, for instance).
Adobe After Effects or Sony Vegas?

Re: Adobe After Effects or Sony Vegas?
I have not made any full length ones yet, but I made these on After Effects. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3psYGDqHoaA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yD20hCU ... e=youtu.be I have a couple more in the works I am making on After Effects. Admittedly, I know very little about Sony Vegas, but I would recommend After Effects to anyone. It is pretty easy to use.

Ohhh, I see. I was worried mostly about the lack of transitions in AAE - you can supposedly make use of the built-in transitions in Vegas to make pretty videos instantly, but AAE has no such function. However, I'm not sure how to keyframe in Vegas.

After Effects has built in transitions. You want the Effects and Preset Panel.

Ah, I see. O: But is it true that Sony Vegas has more pre-made transitions and is thus easier to use?
I managed to start keyframing in AAE thanks to this awesome tutorial I found, but I can't do things right with Sony Vegas yet.

It's quite smooth, was it hard/long to make ? I recently got AEE, just don't know where to begin U_UShojiAmasawa wrote:I have not made any full length ones yet, but I made these on After Effects. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3psYGDqHoaA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yD20hCU ... e=youtu.be I have a couple more in the works I am making on After Effects. I don't know, I've never used Vegas. You would have to try and see I suppose.Kirroha wrote:Ah, I see. O: But is it true that Sony Vegas has more pre-made transitions and is thus easier to use?

@Gura, I would recommend checking out this guy http://www.videocopilot.net/tutorials/ You can learn a lot of the basics and different things you can do in After Effects from his tutorials.
