Ooh, lovely! I've always liked your storytelling style, and this pulls from some of my favorite tales, so I am excited to see this finished.

Well, I do show a rather sarcastic sense of humor in my stories. I'm glad you like it. :)

Unfortunately it's not finished yet. I still have a bird to steal, a horse to steal, a Tsar to trick, a gruesome murder, and wolf who needs his enchantment removed. In short, the story has only Begun.

Only thing bothering me is that the Tsar is a totally different art style than literalyl any other character. He's not in an anime-like style and rather realistic with depth. It's just off-putting is all.

Nice art though, quite clean.

Oooh, lovely! I really like your unique style, even though the sprites are more anime-ish now but it's still unique and I'll recognize them as yours right away!

I also agree with Cleril, though. The Tsar really stands out than the rest...

Oh, this looks absolutely amazing! :) And I agree with the others, I like your art and writing style. Although, I also think that the Tsar is drawn a bit too differently from the other sprites. It's a bit distracting, but that's all. Haha. :)

Anyway... I'm looking forward to this! Haha. ^^

I'm glad you like the art -- except for the Tsar.

I had no choice but to draw the characters myself. I simply could not find the right sort of people photos for the story. Then I thought, what the heck, let's make them change expression too. :)

Everyone hates my Tsar...[pout] Fine, fine, I'll fix the dude.
I'm glad you like the the rest of the art, and the writing style. (Sarcasm Rules!)

Looks great, but why are they wearing Chinese costumes? At least fabrics with bamboo and chrysants look Chinese to me, idk about their gloves - maybe more like Japanese (characters in Hakuouki wear something like that)?

The Russians of the era of this story were highly influenced by the clothing styles of the Mongols who were Oriental. This is because large portions of Russia were under control of the Mongols. This gave their culture access to Chinese fabrics. Much of what is known as 'Traditional" Russian garb is in fact, Mongolian; from the fabrics they made their clothes from, to the boots on their feet. This is especially evident in the women's garb. Oriental design is still highly evident in their modern art forms.

Yes, I know that, but the sons' costumes still seem extremely strange, as I said, mostly because of the fabric pattern, though I'm no fashion historian) I've also tried searching for such gloves in Russian costumes, but couldn't find anything like that.

Thank you.
-- Pity though, the Tsar was the First character I made for this story, even before Ivan. It's sad that I have to scrap him.

No need to do that, if you'll give me the title, I'll try finding them myself. I really like these gloves from Hakuouki, so I would be glad if Russians wore something like that too.

Sleeves are not the same as gloves, so I'm kinda still not convinced, but you sure have every right to draw them any way you like (and I like it too:)). Sorry for bothering so much, I was just curious about the origins of the costume. Thank you for the title.
