I just downloaded, the Renpy Visual Novel maker, and I have NO idea where to put it.

The short answer is "wherever you like"; to my knowledge Ren'Py works fine regardless of where you unzip it to. I seem to recall some trouble under Linux recently starting Ren'Py when there were spaces in a parent directory name, but certainly under Windows this doesn't seem to cause a problem.
